Maybe not then but I know a lot of you guy’s and girls have probably thought about this before. I mean how cool would it be to try and race a sports car? Plus with the era we’re currently in we don’t have to just dream about it, as long as you have some money lying around somewhere (check your sofa’s) you can do it whenever you like. This one definitely gets a green light!

Fire a Gun1 Things To Do Before You Die

#16 Fire a Gun

This may seem pretty lame to some of our US readers, but here in the UK we cannot bare arms; so firing a gun is something you rarely get to do. We’re leaving this open to a few different types of ‘Firing a Gun’ though, it could mean shooting clay pigeons with a shotgun, maybe you could go pheasant hunting or maybe you’d like to go to a firing range and go all Clint Eastwood on a target? Well it certainly gets the blood pumping no matter which way you do it, just a few things though; safety first, always! Plus don’t remember to switch out of safety mode, you don’t want to look like a fool!

Rock Climbing Things To Do Before You Die

#17  Rock Climbing

Rock climbing, what a sport! You can do it in a number of different ways and places, either actually on a real-world rock or on a wall indoors. Both have various pro’s and con’s one being that you will more than definitely survive a fall from an indoor wall, what with the safety harnesses and people there to catch you should you fail massively. The other style is much more exciting, and can be done without ropes at all, although that is left completely to the pro’s and the insane. Imagine climbing thousands of metres up a mountain only to be flung to your death in a nasty accident with some loose rocks! Harness or not though; this is a great sport to try at least once in your life.

Ride a Snowmobile1 Things To Do Before You Die

#18 Ride a Snow-mobile

This would be great fun, I can see it now, ripping down the mountain-side with skiers and snow-boarders jumping left and right for their very lives, as you are being chased by a group of uzi carrying henchmen. Oh…wait, I think that was a Bond film? Anyway the thought of flying through trees and down mountains on a motorbike attached to a ski is a very cool idea in my mind. They can get fast too, so you’d need to make sure you were doing it in a safe area but still, off-road snowmobile riding sounds like a bunch of fun. I must add this one to my own list.

roller coaster Things To Do Before You Die

#19 Ride the largest and scariest roller coasters

Riding roller-coasters is a common thing people do today, we all enjoy going to theme parks and love being scared to death by some scary rides but the best roller-coasters are the big scary ones that make people shudder with just the thought of going on them; I’m talking about the record breakers, the top ten coasters in the world such as the Kingda Ka, Top Thrill dragster and Superman the Escape to name just a few. Riding roller-coasters can be as exhilarating as a bungee jump if it’s designed well enough, so go and get on those big coasters and scare the hell out of yourself; its the perfect excuse for having a family day out at the theme parks!

Zero Gravity2 Things To Do Before You Die#20 Experience Zero Gravity

I think a lot of us have thought about the notion of being able to float around in zero gravity up in space, and although that is more than likely improbable to happen in the very near future there are places you can go in order to get the same feeling as you would if you were to float around up in space.

Get a Makeover Things To Do Before You Die#21 Get a Compete Makeover

This one is probably leaning more towards the girls but there has been a rise lately in the number of men that have makeovers, and why not? Okay so this isn’t really going to be that much of an adrenaline rush but it will give you an air of confidence that you may otherwise have lost over the years. I mean once we leave school a lot of us don’t care as much as we did in the past about looks and what not right? Well anyway, this is a sure-fire way to boost your confidence, get you you men looking more suave; and you ladies even more elegant. If you are suffering from a slight case of S.A.D this Autumn and Winter a makeover may be just the ticket!

Charity Work Things To Do Before You Die#22 Charity Work

This is a great one for the people you will be helping; not to mention the confidence lift it will give you and if you are overly eager to blurt out that you are a do-gooder then it will also give you fantastic bragging rights. Let’s be honest though it’s not about your confidence or your braggish behaviour it’s about helping those in need, and so we should too. It really does warm your heart a little when you see that you are actively participating in the well-being of others you don’t even know; and it can be a charity for anything too not just people. Whatever it is you decide to do, just make sure you go through with it.

Five Star Hotel Things To Do Before You Die#23 Stay in the Best Room at a 5 Star Hotel

This is something you should definitely do, whether you have lied your way into the penthouse suite or if you have saved up your last 6 months pay-checks. Just go and book somewhere with your wife, husband, partner or even a complete stranger and just go there, chill out and take in all the first class goodness of a real top flight hotel. My suggestion; if you have been saving for a while make it extra special and jump across the world to a nice hotel in another country. Go on you deserve it.

Start Your Own Business Things To Do Before You Die#24 Start Your Own Business

Even if it falls flat on its face, it’s great to start a business. Sure there are the daily grinding tasks and the long hours, and yes you may well fail without appropriate funding, capital or a working business model but heck, it’s not like it will kill you is it? Have a hobby or a skill you are very good at? Put it to work, start an eBay business, sell e-books, or tutorials on how to knit the perfect sweater. Whatever your passion or desire, try your hand at it, if you do eventually fail at least you can say I did it, I had fun for a while and there was no boss to tell me what to do.

Road Trip Things To Do Before You Die#25 Go on a Road Trip

An absolute MUST, if you are in your 40’s or 50’s this isn’t too late for you, hell, if your older it doesn’t matter age is not a concern here it’s how you feel. Do you love the sense of adventure a road trip gives you? Do you crave the urge to close your eyes put at a map and drive there? Well then what are we waiting for, you get the car key’s I’ll get the map! Seriously though, this is a great thing to do; especially if you have nothing else to do and you are feeling a little adventurous. Taking a road trip gets two big hitch-hiker thumbs up from us.

Fly a Plane Things To Do Before You Die

#26 Fly a Plane

Okay so flying a plane, there are certain people that won’t even get on a plane which is flying with someone else in the cockpit; but if you feel the need to take a 20yr old Cessna and try to fly the thing, well all the more power to you guys and girls! I’ll admit it myself, I love the idea of flying, it’s one of those crazy dreams you have as a kid, flying a fighter jet at neck-breaking speed trying to out-wit your enemy in a dogfight, although, I’m not sure how neck-breaking a 20yr old Cessna is, I’m pretty sure you’d have good fun, and who know’s maybe it will come in handy one day?

baja racing Things To Do Before You Die#27 Baja Racing

This must be awesome; I’ve never done it but I would seriously do it given the chance. If you don’t know what Baja Racing is you are in for a treat, basically you go to some far away location; a desert, a massive field, a forest etc. Wherever you go the main thing is what you are doing; driving at stupidly fast speeds on anything that is classed as an off-road vehicle. This could be a motorcycle, a 4×4 truck or even a dune-buggy anything really as long as it was made for off-road usage. Then you basically ride around chasing each other and trying to win the race; which by the way is very difficult with a face full of sand. Adrenaline junkies, the arena is yours.

canyoning Things To Do Before You Die# 28 Canyoning

This is a typical venture for red-bloodied men and women who love nothing more than getting stuck into something vastly dangerous and terrifying. Canyoning, or Canyoneering is the sport of climbing or travelling across, up and down you’ve guessed it, canyons. Now this may sound a little like rock climbing but it’s not; this is a mixture of rock climbing, white river rafting, pot-holing and other dangerous antics all mixed into one. This is a pretty dangerous sport not to mention vertigo inducing due to the heights at which these canyons stand. Feeling lucky? Take a chance on the canyon side of life.

Gumball 3000 Things To Do Before You Die#29 Gumball Rally

Okay so how many of you have heard about this? How many have heard about the Gumball Rally through the MTV show Jackass? Well if you know about it then you will surely be hooked already; but just for those that have been busy checking things off this list let me guide you through. The Gumball Rally; also known as the Gumball 3000 is a mass rally across the entire globe, with the one and only incentive to finish the race being, well to finish the race. The Gumball Rally is notorious for the amount of arrests and crashes and half the people who start the race barely finish it at all. Here you will find anything from a 1.2 Vauxhall Nova right up to a Ferrari Testarossa; definitely a must for petrol-heads.

Hang Gliding Things To Do Before You Die#30 Hang Gliding

This is in the same neighbourhood as paragliding is; you are free to fly, there’s no-one telling you what to do or where to go. You can just follow your instincts and let the wind guide you. Just make sure it doesn’t guide you straight into the nearest set of power-lines! This is a sport where you will definitely need some training. There is no-way a learner should just pick up a glider and jump off a cliff. Please do not do that – at all! Although it is a great experience so you should definitely take a week off sometime and just learn how to do it. Who knows maybe you’ll get so good you can leave your car at home whilst you fly to work. Kidding aside it is a must-try in our book; go stamp it.

Paramotoring Things To Do Before You Die#31 Paramotoring

This must be an awesome way to travel; gliding across the sky with a motor strapped to the small seating area with a boomerang above your head! Paramotoring is basically using a motor powered hang-glider. This means you can start from a fairly flat level rather than jumping off the white cliffs over dover or a similar set of vertical drops in true lemming style. With a paramotor you have more control of where you are going and more importantly where you will be landing. Make sure you pack a fresh set of underwear though as bad weather can really shake you up.

Running with the bulls in Pampalona Things To Do Before You Die#32 Running with the Bulls in Pampalona

You must have seen this on the local news channel? In a nutshell you run around the streets of Pampalona chased by a herd of huge bulls; all very angry and possibly blood-thirsty I might add. It might seem more of a nightmare than a daydream to most; but when have you felt so close to death that it made you realise how precious your life really is? It’s a cultural tradition and it’s also a great first date to have! Okay scrap that last one but it is definitely a tradition to enter into at least once in your life. The worst that could happen is a bad case of death, but then hey, you could get hit by a bus tomorrow (probably draped in a RedBull advertisement just to be ironic). Try before you die, simple.

Sand Dune Boarding Things To Do Before You Die#33 Sand Dune Boarding

Just as the name suggests you go snow-boarding on a snow-board but on sand; why is this so good? Well for a start many of us cannot afford to travel to Aspen or Switzerland once a year but more importantly it’s because it rocks. You can really get the adrenaline flowing fast and furious with sand-dune boarding because believe it or not it can be quite dangerous not to mention fun though, if you live near a beach that has some huge dunes try this out, other than that you could always try the local dessert if you have one? You don’t? Too bad, well go out and try it anyway it’s a fun thing to do.

ZapCat Racing Things To Do Before You Die#34 ZapCat Racing

Zap-Cat Racing is an extreme boating sport which is water-sport in which a boat (the Zap-Cat) is driven at very high speeds against its competitors in a bid to become the overall winner. Sounds pretty simple but when the waters are rough and the boat is going at a very speed the task is a little less than easy. This is an awesome sport and you can go see them race around the world. If you want to try this mae sure you take a spare pair of underwear because you may very well need it!

Wing Walk on a Biplane Things To Do Before You Die#35 Wing Walk on a Bi Plane

I have seen elderly ladies do this for charity on the local news before and if they can do it then why can’t anyone else. Bear in mind that this isn’t something for people that have a weak stomach because this could make you very squeamish, especially if you are already terrified of heights. Bi-planes are from an era way back in the past and just seeing them makes me think of the 1920’s; being strapped to a plane’s wings has got to be one of the best, most exhilarating things you could ever do.

Swim with dolphins Things To Do Before You Die#36 Swim With Dolphins

I’ll admit it, my hands are well and truly in the air, I realise it is a little sad to say it but I would love to go swimming with dolphins. It’s one of those things you would like to do as a child and forever like the idea well into your 20s possibly further who knows; I’m not there yet but will tell you if it carries on into my 30’s. Anyway Swimming with dolphins is on the list because; like I said before it is a fantasy many have but rarely get the chance to do. So if you have been yearning to swim with the friendly guardians of the sea then get yourself on holiday and find somewhere that allows you to swim with the dolphins.

Shower in a waterfall Things To Do Before You Die#37 Shower in a Waterfall

If you are an old romantic then this will be for you; the memories of Kevin Costner as Robin Hood might have stayed with you for a long time and you may have kept that desire to bathe in mother-nature’s glorious waterfalls; and there is certainly nothing wronmg with that but it’s not on the list because of Kevin Costner or his merry men. Showering beneath a waterfall has got to be a fantastic sensation, basking in the glorious natural phenomenon which mother-nature has created. Fantastic.

Sleep under the stars Things To Do Before You Die#38 Sleep under the stars

I’m sure the majority of have already done this in one way or another but were talking about actually sleeping beneath the stars; camping site or tent required just simply get your sleeping bag, or lay on the bonnet of your car and watch above as the world spins at dizzying speeds.and the stars seem still, the night silent and the air refreshingly sharp and cool. You’re there already aren’t you? Well if you are then get your sleeping bag and let’s take a roadtrip. Come on people up and at it!

quad biking Things To Do Before You Die#39 Quad Biking

This is a fairly simple one that most people could accomplish this year if they wanted to; just get a quad-bike or hire ine out and find a nice field you can gain permission to use for a few hours, then go to town; not literally though. You can now get quad-bikes that are legal on the road so you don’t even have to stay within the confines of some farmers used and dirty, overly expensive field for hire. You can reach some incredible speed, however it would be good to mention that there are quite a lot of accidents resulting from quad-bike riding so be careful on your ventures and make sure that you always wear a helmet.

Get a Tattoo Things To Do Before You Die#40 Get a Tattoo

Whether you are doing this for the sake of annoying your parents or if you are genuine in wanting to mark your skin with a decorative motif; be sure that you know what you are doing. Tattooing is an art form and you need to select the very best tattooist you can afford on top of this you need to make sure you get a design you can be happy with forever and finally you need to make sure you are doing it for the correct reasons. With the warnings out of the way it is safe to say that getting a tattoo can be a very enjoyable experience especially if you like a bit of pain; and as long as you have chosen a great tattooist and design you are going to have something to be proud of. Personally I think the more unique a tattoo is the better it is, so if you are a creative type why not try to design the tattoo yourself?

Compete in a Gaming Competition Things To Do Before You Die#41 Compete in a Gaming Competition

This is a great one to do if you are a gamer. Yes there are a lot of competitions to choose from but you could wind up getting the job of your dreams; testing games. Competing in the games arena is a great way to up your online profile too if you are gaming online via a pc. There are so many different genres for you to choose from and you could become a jack of all trades or stick to just one genre. Whatever your bag is; if you are keen on gaming then this one is for you. You may just end up as the king of the geeks, and us geeks are definitely in fashion at the moment.

Get a Bike Licence Things To Do Before You Die#42 Get a Bike License

This is something you should definitely do if you are a keen motorbike fan; and the chances of gaining a bike licence are far better than that of getting a car licence. That being said motorcycles are dangerous vehicles so be wary on the roads. Getting a motorcycle basically gives you the freedom you have always wanted, sure driving a car is great fun, but there’s nothing like the feeling of the wind blowing across your face whilst you are driving through a country lane with nothing but you and your thoughts to keep you company. If you grew up with films such as easy rider you’ll know how it feels to want a motorcycle and imagine yourself as Peter Fonda or Dennis Hopper. Go on release that inner child and jump on a hog.

Go to a Music Festival Things To Do Before You Die#44 Visit a real blues bar

If you are a lover of music and you regularly go to the gigs and concerts of your favourite and local bands then the next step up from that is the live festivals. It’s really an experience that has lived on and has been passed on from generation to generation for the past century. So if you haven’t already been and seen your favourite band live on stage in front of 100,000 other people then get yourself a ticket to one of next year’s greatest live festivals. I guarantee you will have the time of your life, just remember to take supplies (water and toilet tissue being the most important).

Visit a real blues bar Things To Do Before You Die

#44 Visit a real blues bar

A real blues bar, have you been to one yet? I have and wow. If you are not a fan of blues and jazz then you soon will be if you travel to the nearest Blues bar near you. I admit I have enjoyed Blues music for a while but being there in the presence of the real musician’s is something else. The room is dark, the drinks are ice cold and the music is ambient; if you want the perfect night to just relax and unwind then this is something for you. What you have got to remember is that Blues is not like trance or rock, it is a completely different form of music altogether and whilst I like music which is a vast contrast to Blues I still very much enjoy a night out at the local Jazz bar. It’s something everyone should do just once, you never know you might actually enjoy it.

Cross a country on a bicycle Things To Do Before You Die#45 Cross a Country on a Bicycle

If you have ever seen the long way down then you will see where I am going with this; but instead of riding a motorcycle were talking about crossing a country on a bicycle. That’s right a push bike, the overall commitment that you must put in to get this finished is amazing, well depending on the time frame you are working to it is. If you decide you want to ride the length of the UK from John ‘O’ Groats to Lands End; you could also add raising money for charity with this one and really feel good about yourself whilst helping others.

Go Camping Things To Do Before You Die#46 Go Camping

Camping is a well-founded tradition throughout the world and is a great adventure if done properly. There is more to sitting around a fire and singing songs whilst toasting marshmallows; today’s camping scene is all about enjoying yourself with friends no matter what your age may be. Grab some drinks, take some party food, some music and your friends and just hang out, have good times, make some lasting memories and get up to a little mischief; nothing too naughty though, you don’t want to end up in a cell instead of a tent. Be sensible and enjoy the great outdoors.
